Why Wound Care Matters
When a wound doesn't heal as expected, it can quickly become serious. Chronic wounds often result from issues like diabetes, poor circulation, or infection, and without proper care, even a small injury can lead to hospitalization. At Ascend, we treat the whole picture, not just the wound, but the factors that prevent your body from healing.

FAQs
Can I keep my regular doctor while receiving wound care at Ascend?
Yes. We coordinate with your current healthcare providers so your care is integrated.
What types of wounds do you treat?
We treat a wide range of wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers (bedsores), post-surgical wounds, vascular and arterial wounds, and other non-healing or complex wounds.
What should I do to prepare for my first wound care appointment?
To get the most out of your first visit, bring any information you have on your health (e.g. blood sugar readings, circulation issues, medications), photos of the wound if possible, and a list of prior treatments. Be ready to discuss your nutrition, mobility, and any underlying medical conditions.
Do I need to come into a clinic, or can you provide care at home?
We offer flexible options depending on your needs. Care can be provided in-clinic, via virtual check-ins, or even mobile/home visits if travel is difficult or the wound requires special attention.
How quickly will I see improvement?
Every wound is different, but many patients see noticeable improvement within 1-2 weeks of starting treatment. The full healing timeline depends on wound size, depth, underlying health conditions, and how well contributing factors (like circulation, nutrition, blood sugar) are addressed.
